I just committed Firefox 3.0b2 to the buildservice and it will show up for download during the day. (The buildservice is currently loaded with a Factory update so it might take several hours :-().
It’s still for testing purposes only! (While I haven’t seen any feedback about b1 yet and this post has been created using Beta2).
Another thing people might be interested in is that this version and also Firefox 2.0.0.11 from the buildservice repository contain a searchplugin for openSUSE software search. Just choose it in the search box.
It seems that at least the german localization is missing some entities so if you are using locales other than en-US and run into XML errors force Firefox to use en-US by setting $LANG before starting it.
Using Russian translation, Download and Bookmark managers show only XML-error in their windows, but overall impression is positive because of some new useful features and more native look and fell in Gnome.
The XML errors in certain localizations should be fixed with package versions greater than 2.9.92-7.1.
I’ve updated to 2.9.92-7.1, but firefox still displaying only errors in the following windows:
1. History and Bookmarks
//browser/content/places/places.xul
<window id=”places”
2. Downloads
Sorry, all is working fine, after I’ve updated both MozillaFirefox and MozillaFirefox-translations packages instead of only MozillaFirefox one.
Thanks for quick fixing it 🙂
